GRAND HAVEN, MI — A Michigan Department of Natural Resources conservation officer was recently honored for arresting a man wanted for murder while he was attempting to steal a semi truck in Kalamazoo County in 2020. The officer, Sgt. Chris Holmes, arrested an Indiana man in April 2020 after the man stabbed a semi truck driver following a crash on the I-94 highway and attempted to steal the driver's semi truck. At a meeting earlier this week in Grand Haven, Holmes was awarded the DNR Law Enforcement Division's Distinguished Service Award for his bravery and heroism.
